Sergios Manarakis

Sergios I. Manarakis is an attorney admitted to the Athens Bar Association since 2002, an accredited mediator, and an experienced legal professional with extensive expertise in civil, commercial, and construction law, arbitration, and dispute resolution.

He has been accredited as a mediator by The Chartered Institute of Arbitrators in 2010 and by the Ministry of Justice in 2013. In 2020, he obtained mediator trainer accreditation from the International Mediation Institute. Since 2021, he has served as a trainer with Mediation Academy, following its assumption of the training activities of the Hellenic Centre for Mediation and Arbitration. He also serves as Vice President of the Hellenic Union of Mediators.

He began his legal career with K. Alexiou and Partners Law Firm, where he practiced from 2003 to 2010. He subsequently established his own law practice and, since 2011, has also acted as an external legal associate with Papapolitis & Papapolitis Law Firm.
He is legal counsel to DEKA TECHNIKI S.A., a technical company engaged in the design and construction of public and private projects. His practice encompasses both litigation and advisory work in the areas of Civil Law, Commercial Law, Arbitration, and corporate restructuring. He has advised and represented major construction companies and joint ventures in matters relating to construction law, public procurement, labour law, concession agreements, and real estate development.

He holds an LL.B. from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (1999) and an LL.M. from the University of Edinburgh (2000).
In the field of mediation, he has undertaken advanced training in sports mediation, cadastral mediation and school mediation. He has also participated in training in relation to negotiation in mediation, community mediation, and advanced mediation techniques. He has participated in numerous mediations both as mediator and as party counsel.

Through his role in the Hellenic Union of Mediators, he has contributed to the organization of seminars, workshops, and lecture series on mediation, featuring over fifty presentations by Greek and international mediators and academic experts.

As a trainer, he has participated in specialized seminars on family and sports mediation and in the training for lawyers, trainee lawyers, and certified mediators organized by the Ministry of Justice in cooperation with Mediation Academy for the 2025–2026 period.

He has published articles in academic legal journals in Greece and abroad and has contributed to the collective publication Mediation: Theory & Practice (P.N. Sakkoulas, 2023).

He is fluent in English and has working knowledge of French.
